Easter is almost here and with it comes Easter parties and fun!

We can help you with ideas for Easter decorations and parties. We’ve got all the linens, china and chairs you need in case you’ve got lots of little ones coming or if you want to go “all-out” with your party.

And here is something that can add a little fun to your Easter gatherings. Confetti eggs or Cascarones in Spanish are very common in Mexican celebrations. I didn’t realize until last year that this wasn’t something done by more families until a guest at our Easter celebration pointed out that she had never seen this before. So to help spread the fun, here are some directions.

Once you’ve made your Confetti eggs, you give them to the little ones who have a blast sneaking up on family and friends and smashing them on their heads! This is always a blast. Here’s what you need:

Eggs

Easter egg dye

Piece of paper

Colored tissue paper

Scissors

Glue (a glue stick is best)

1) Take the scissors and crack a small hole in the top of the egg. Empty the contents of the shell into a bowl (don’t waste the egg! Make some omelets or something!). Rinse the egg and let it dry.

2) Use the dye to color the eggs. You can get fancy here.

3) While the egg is drying, cut the tissue paper into confetti.

4) Take your normal piece of paper and make a funnel for the confetti. Insert a portion of confetti into your colored egg shells.

5) Take a small piece of your colored tissue paper and use your glue stick to cover the hole in the egg shell. Repeat until all of your eggs are covered.

6) Take your eggs and smash them on your friends’ heads! Oh, and give some to the kids so they can have fun too.

Every girl dreams of a big fairy tale wedding but with the recession more and more brides are simplifying their budgets. But simple budgets don’t have to mean simple designs. With a few  choices or alternatives to traditional centerpieces or floral arrangements, you can have all the look for less money.

One key aspect that everyone notices of designer Preston Bailey’s events is the large sweeping centerpieces full of flowers.  In lieu of flowers, which account for a large percentage of a wedding planning budget, choose tall glass vases instead. This can give the same effect as a large candelabra of flowers without being overwhelmingly expensive.

We certainly enjoyed ourselves this weekend at the Bridal stroll. There was a great crowd and our display tables looked truly amazing! I hope you were able to make it out to see us and if you didn’t, stop by our show room!

Two bakeries were at the Bridal Stroll with some beautiful and tempting offerings. Something Sweet Bakery had an amazing display of wedding cakes! We often feature them in our shop as part of inspiring our customers and collaborating with local businesses.

Cupcake Mania used our Tiered Cake Stand for their delicious free samples. Both would be perfect for the bride looking to stray from tradition a little without giving up clean lines or elegance.

Wedding Season is just around the corner and We’re gearing up with the Lincoln Center’s 2nd Annual Bridal stroll. There’s going to be lots of great vendors that will help you get from the engagement to the honeymoon!
